If you were to describe what it means to be a man in one word, what would it be and why?

"When I was young around five or six years old my father would not let me paint his nails because he was afraid of what other people would think(that he was less of a man for having painted nails) a real man would let his daughter paint his nails.  Having the humility to "announce" his pride in being a father and a man."
