If you were to describe what it means to be a man in one word, what would it be and why?
"For me masculinity entails the ability to extend beyond one's own self and think about and feel that which is beyond one's own experience and idealism. Compassion requires a level of self-possession and confidence and the willingness to extend love in places where it is not often given. I see the world as a place which can be harsh, chaotic, and filled with pain and fear. For me the answer is seen in Christ in the garden, drinking deeply of our sorrow. Compassion is not about drawing lines or containment, but giving peace in the chaos, dignity where it has been taken away, and strength and hope to those who are in need."
