German Villegas is a Chilean immigrant who moved to Edmonton, Canada in 1988. He noticed a gap between the discussion about gender roles, and how men have been thinking and talking about it, so he set out to create Modern Manhood, a podcast about healthy masculinities and the roles they play in society through interviews, the podcast has been shortlisted for a Community Award in 2016 and has included guests from three different continents.
Interview with Nick Halmasy
Nick Halmasy spent a decade in the Fire Service. He spent the majority of that time as a Fire Instructor and sat on various committees within the fire service. He has completed a Master's of Arts in Counselling and is a Registered Psychotherapist.
After the Call is the culmination of his passion for First Responders and Mental Health Awareness. Nick takes an holistic approach to First Responder Mental Wellness and pushes back against the idea that PTSD is the only disorder to wreak havoc among this population. Nick understands that the level of stress and pressure felt by those in this field will be experienced in a multitude of ways; not simply ending with a PTSD diagnosis. Nick often offers contrarian ideals to the current mental wellness atmosphere and works hard to correct and eliminate inaccurate information that is widely spread from media and other sources. Nick is open to starting conversations and offering input that is novel and strives to offer "not another boring mental wellness training".
Nick brings to the field not just experience as a First Responder, but also as a clinical practitioner with experience in a wide range of clinical settings including: crisis settings, hospital settings, and within the addiction sector. Nick currently works within the Mental Health specific health care. Nick also runs a private therapy practice for First Responders in Peterborough.
Nick has written a book to help First Responders and their families begin conversations about mental wellness. Nick has presented extensively on the topic of First Responder Mental Wellness. In addition, Nick offers personalized programming and workshops for First Responders to help them close the gaps within their departments, as well as consultation services.
Nick is a co-founder and Clinical Director of the After The Call's CISM team branch.
Interview with Ryan Billy Tate
Ryan Billy Tate is a self confessed, retired, under acheiver. Having had no less than 30 jobs by his late thirties. Ryan has been a deckhand on crayfishing boats, packed brick packs-nightshift, white walled and rendered, propped, strapped, and plastered ceilings. He has crawled through roof spaces putting in installation batts and ducting air-con in Australia's hottest regions. Worked as a drillers offsider, real estate agent, used car salesman, cook and waiter, and the list goes on and on. Until he said enough is enough! Ryan turned his attention to a range of residual income streams, ranging from affiliate marketing to forex and cryptocurrencies. Now he works two days a week as a gym and fitness equipment salesman. Ryan spends the rest of his time either with family or producing content to inspire others to not just conform like society expects but follow their passion and purpose.

Justin Andrews grew up in southwest Wisconsin and after graduating from college there he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Custom woodworking and distance running have been both hobbies and jobs to varying degrees for him over the last 12 years. Justin has called Chengdu, China home since 2013 and currently teaches woodworking at a public university there as well as having turned his passion for running into a multi-faceted pursuit of international ultra-trail mountain races and coaching.
