Masculinity and the subconscious mind.

I cannot speak for every man on the face of the earth, but I am fairly confident in saying that allot of men's insecurities, fears, and struggles come from one's inner world. The internal demons every man has to face show externally if he has taken the time to conquer them or not. I like to call it facing your shadows.

I never used to believe how much the inner world influenced the external world until I started making significant life decisions to pursue dreams I had had for a while. Instantly the biggest obstacle I had to overcome was myself. I could not believe it. Why was I my biggest opponent? Well, because my subconscious mind was filled with negativity and self-hatred, that is why.

So luckily I like to read and my buddy Zach referred a book to me that set me on a journey to cognitively change how I think. Once I read the book he sent me I remembered two other books that were on the same topic and re-read them as well.

Here are the three books. Click on the book titles for a link to Amazon. (I don't get any money from this just in case if you were thinking that.)

- You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. By: Jen Sincero

- The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. By: Joseph Murphy

- As a Man Thinketh. By: James Allen

These three books helped me alter my way of thinking in a significant way. I often seem to lean towards pessimism, but now I am changing that. I am taking control of things internally that I did not know could be altered.

You might be asking what this has to do with masculinity? EVERYTHING. A man with a subconscious mind that he has tamed is without a doubt secure, confident, and masculine. Show me a man in any walk of life who has not conquered his internal world, and I will show you someone who is not secure in their masculinity.

If you have any other books that you recommend in this same vein of thought, please share! Also, I would love to hear your thoughts if you get a chance to read these books!

With regards.

Timothy
